You're right... YC isn't a "must have". But YC clearly still has value. For me specifically it's about speed. It's not like YC itself is some North-star, but I think it would speed things up a lot. Also very specifically: it would mean I can quit my "other job" running my other company and focus 100% on "Act 3" instead of splitting my time.
