The improved screen shots are improved, but not anything I would call impressive
- metadat 4y agoFacebook is fundamentally a multimedia company, not a technology firm, and they know it. Why they're trying to build video games with scrum is a mystery to me. They are good at ads, scaling backends, mining our data, and paying droves of SV devs to make a few apps. This scenario does not lend itself to a AAA game dev studio. It's not in FB's or Zmuckerbergs DNA. I'm sure there are reasons Carmack decided it wasn't worth his time to see it through with Oculus and instead just recently moved on to found his own AI company.
- dimmke 4y agoThey look like a college student learning 3D modeling doing art for a direct to streaming Pixar movie knockoff. When I look at the stuff coming out of Dalle-2… like, there’s such a lack of imagination. Imagine a metaveras where everything is rendered in the style of a watercolor painting not this mimoji shit. You’re literally creating a new reality and it’s more drab than the real world.
