Ok right that doesn't surprise me. I had interpreted your original post is the German army somehow still having active military units in France while Versaille was going on which definitely would have. Thanks for the links btw, it's not something I can remember seeing discussed in english before.

There are not that many good sources in french either tbh. Even the studies we have don't really focus that much on the post-armistice period, since Germany's sabotage started before the armistice, as they could see the writing on the wall.
