A devastating example of ignoring the "first do no harm" principle.
- acdha 4y agoYeah, the intention seems good – there’s some question about whether sugar industry funding shifted viewpoints but from what I have read that seems dubious compared to the simple explanation that the President wanted a policy now and people went with their instinct. He was later fired by Reagan because the beef industry didn’t like the low-fat guidelines so it’s not like this field doesn’t have all kinds of politics pulling in other directions, too.
