I think it's highly dependent on the culture of the workplace/environment and if its more on the laid-back side of things. In general though, I'd say too many emojis is never a good thing.

I'm blessed that my company is remote first and people are super chill but I guess my worry comes from a sudden realisation when I looked back at my chat and felt somewhat embarrassed for excessive use of emoji... I'm sure even if someone finds it annoying, they won't complain, hence the random question ^^;;
