Ask HN: Where to host our engineering blog?

Our small team would like to start an engineering blog. Requirements: - we'd host on our website (blog.ourwebsite.com) - multiple writers could submit to it - looks decent - not much effort to get up and running I've looked briefly at Substack and Medium (not sure if they work well for this?) and Ghost (which is probably great, but is $2k/year and untested for us). Anyone have a good experience with a blogging solution for a team?

Have you considered a static site generator and self hosting?

    I lump running it in your cloud project as self hosting, rather than putting it in something like medium, where their servers are sending the responses.

Medium will just randomly delete your account and all posts in my experience. I was hosting the most innocent little batch script with a tutorial. The only way to go is self hosting in my opinion. Get a .com for $1 at 1&1 (when it comes to domains always do .com or nothing) and a $1 /m unmanaged VPS.
