Five years later, Google is still all-in on Kotlin
- rogerthis 4y ago> That number, the company said, is now doubling every year Does it really matter when other langs LOC can been growing faster, maybe much faster?
- jamesfinlayson 4y agoNot surprising. > But Kotlin today is also far more than just Android. Server-side Kotlin is becoming quite common at Google at this point, it seems, with over 8.5 million lines of Kotlin code in Google’s internal codebase to date. That number, the company said, is now doubling every year. I couldn't find what percentage of Google's backend code is Java but it sounds like that's being phased out at a reasonable pace.
- iio7 4y agoYeah, I was surprised at this. Maybe they will face out Dart too then.
- jamesfinlayson 4y agoI don't know what's going with Android at the moment but are Google using Dart themselves for anything serious?
