- LorenPechtel 4y agoThere's already a lot of tourism. Kilimanjaro is one of the seven summits but it's accessible to anyone in decent shape and who doesn't have altitude problems. It's a tough hike, it's not mountaineering. There are debates as to exactly how to measure continents and thus which peaks qualify. Taking a narrow view of continents you get Kosciuszko (Australia) as one of the seven and it's no meaningful accomplishment--summitting it was a task on The Amazing Race one season. (Although it wasn't mentioned as one of the seven summits, just the highest point in Australia.) The only other one that someone who isn't a mountaineer can aspire to is Aconcagua (South America) and it's *far* harder than Kilimanjaro and conditions are far more brutal.
