I disagree with Rowling about gender, and think she was disingenuous for posting her views online when she undoubtedly knew they'd be unpopular. But I agree very much with this article, the internet is poisonous, and especially to women. I only wish I had some answer -- we've let the genie out of the bottle, or opened Pandora's box, or whatever metaphor you like. Social media has changed the world, and probably not for the better. At this point, it's like walking at night in a big city -- you have to keep your street smarts about you, and even then you might not be safe.
