Your creativity, ethics, motivation, experience, skill set are irrelevant - if you're on their way for pay off their mortgage, you're out of the carousel. Occasionally I drop CV to some matching openings and make a video call from pure inertia. Shutdown of Stack Exchange careers noticeably lowered the quality of openings in my pipeline.
