Meh, not my experience at all. I'm from Norway, and have lived in many other countries. EDIT: Sure, the winter part is somewhat true, at least if you're living up north. First snowfall comes mid/late October, and last early in May. "Real" summer is at most from mid June to mid/late August, around two months.
