There is a strong argument for voter-verifiable paper records of voting machines, which give the ability to spot check results. There are better ways to move forward for a better system, and better protections of democracy, for those that are really about that and want to maintain it. Problem is, it appears not everyone really wants a fair democratic process or fair elections, and knowingly faulty systems can be a means to an end.
