These planes if they ever take off from the ground will be nearly empty of passengers. Oil prices will be cost prohibitive for this sort of travel and they should be. Our energy sector and biosphere are in the midst of a collapse and we are pushing to put more CO2 into the air pps? So the elite can shave precious hours off of commute times?
- throwntoday 4y agoIf we stopped using fossil fuels civilization would collapse. There is no green alternative to makeup for the deficit in energy. Just stop that nonsense thinking.

If the planes will be "nearly empty of passengers" and only carry "elites" then the impact on global fossil fuel usage will be insignificant. Like the Concorde. The problem would be if they are somehow not cost prohibitive and millions of middle class people are able and willing to pay extra to go faster than subsonic planes. Does that sound likely?
