Not only are there all the "old school" physical & legal ways for this to go horribly wrong, but it sounds like it'll be running on some software that they're doing ongoing development of. (So are you SOL if they are yet another home automation company that goes south? Or if your power or internet goes down for X hours? Or if their server gets hacked? Or...) Notice how close the living areas are to the surface of the sea - which happens to be dead calm in their photos. How comfy will this floating "oceanfront" living be, when there's even a modest storm? How long will that cool, skinny structure physically hold together, if it's facing (say) a strong gale, and 30-foot waves? Edit: Just noticed that their web site shows their floating "houses" flying the Panamanian flag. JIC you were wondering what legal status they were hoping for.
