As an employee, I appreciate it when my employer sends birthday/holiday/etc gifts (think corporate gift boxes, there are many third-parties in this market), and they make me feel more appreciated than, say, a straight reimbursement for office equipment or something I'd otherwise pay for out of pocket. That probably makes me a sucker. But a happy sucker!
