Shame, suicide attempts, ‘financial death’ – the toll of a crypto firm’s failure
- LatteLazy 4y agoIf I buy a share and it goes up, it's because I am smart, savey investor. If I buy a share and it goes down, it's because I was cheated! the whole thing is a fraud! Why won't they just give me my money back!?
- danny_codes 4y agoThis company pretend to be a bank, lied about their financials & via those lies convinced people to "deposit" their money in my "bank". That sounds pretty criminal to me. Obviously cryptocurrency should be considered a security, but this case is a bit more extreme than that.
- LatteLazy 4y agoYou don't need to know any of that, as soon as they offered ~20x the return a bank would offer, you knew it was (at least) 20x riskier. As soon as it was too good to be true, it was too good to be true. I don't see a queue of people who got their money out in time and made a tidy profit queuing up to return the cash because the whole thing was a cheat. And these people are no different, they would have boasted about their investment if it had lasted another 6months and they'd gotten their cash back. That's the problem here: It's heads they win, tails they cry they were cheated in the vague hope someone will give them free money...
