Anecdotal, but I’m currently dealing with a broken fridge. It’s less than 2 years old and the compressor failed.
Repair tech said to contact a Frigidaire even though it has no warranty. He said he’s seen a stack of compressor failures on relatively new fridges.
- 43920 4y agoThis just happened to me too - 3 year old Frigidaire, failed compressor. Would be interesting if this really is a trend rather than just anecdotal, but I suppose we'll never know. What's ridiculous is the lack of reasonably-priced replacement parts. I tried to get the fridge repaired, and the cost of a new compressor + the cost of having someone swap it was more than the cost of an entire new fridge.
- donohoe 4y agoSame! I complained (nicely) to Frigidaire and they are covering cost of full repair.
