I'm working on a Nix/NixOS based polyglot Bazel build infrastructure (that we're using in production) and I've almost got `glibc` and `libstdc++` squeezed all the way out. They're like fucking Kudzu (which is not an accident), but I'll get 'em eventually. Once `glibc` and `libstdc++` are all the way gone it will be a hop, skip, and a jump to doing what you're describing. I anticipate it being ready for open source as a standalone flake by the end of 2022.
