Your interests change over time, which can dramatically impact what you learn. It thought from 20-30 I'd be focused on tech forever, but now I'm 40 I gravitate towards the nuance of conversation. I suspect further changes and by the time I'm 70 I won't shut up about grandfather clocks from the 18th century.
So it goes.
- Dracophoenix 4y agoWhat about the nuance of conversation interests? Semantics and semiotics or more the psychology behind it?
- notjustanymike 4y agoThe psychology behind it. "Crucial Conversations" was the book that really kicked me off. It demonstrated how people can hear something different to what you say, and how you can create a conversational environment more conducive to the conversation you're trying to have. More recently, conversational techniques for problem solving have been really interesting. Google "The SOON Funnel" if you're curious.
