Is it still possible to prevent total climate meltdown?
- Comevius 4y agoHardly, and we should start concentrating on adaptation. Geoengineering is too risky for now, but we should work on it either way, because one of the long-term risk is microbial blooms capable of destroying the atmosphere. The shit will keep hitting the fan and people will turn to fascist incel blockchain cults and Disney VR metaverses to cope. It will all be a big, unjust, undignified chaos. Millions will keep finding themselves being left to their own devices, which is already happening today. The eventual collapse will take place rather unceremoniously. Off-the-grid communities with stand-alone renewable energy systems might fare better.
