Given Zoom’s history of “mistakenly” doing things, I don’t think your concern is completely unfounded. The FBI have previously issued warnings[1] about Zoom “accidentally” routing calls through China and for “accidentally” allowing CCP officials to monitor and end calls made outside of China they don’t like[2]. This is just the latest “accident” we’ve found out about.
