- andsoitis 4y agoGeneral Purpose Language, since it is the world’s first general purpose language.
- layer8 4y agoArguably, it should be First General Purpose Language then. Might also help avoiding confusion if the implementation isn’t GPL.
- mpweiher 4y agoI was also thinking of Architectural Programming Language, but APL.. Arches? Arch? (There was ArchJava, so there's a precedent). ArchTalk?
- andsoitis 4y agoArchitecture Oriented Language, or just AOL for short.
- derekzhouzhen 4y agoObjective-C has objective because C itself is not objected oriented. Objective-Smalltalk would be redundant. How about StepTalk or SmallStep? to honor the NextStep heritage, you know.
