- samcheng 4y agoHmm, these days it's the security update that you want. Avoiding all updates will leave you with a vulnerable system. I agree regarding staying well off the LTS bleeding edge, though. I usually wait around 6 months. Back in the early RedHat days, I remember waiting for the x.2 release.
- btgeekboy 4y agoThis is off the bleeding edge; 22.04 was released in April. But now that 22.04.1 is out, `do-release-upgrade` from LTS->LTS works.
- blitzar 4y ago> if everything works So I guess everyone is going to be doing an update and upgrade.
- timonoko 4y agoMy 18.04 is already beyond broken. "You have held packages" whatever it is supposed to mean. But alas, there are now Snaps and Flatpaks, which always work. :-)
- TryingToHelpYou 4y agoSimply try sudo apt update [name_of_package] This fixed the same problem I had moving to 22:04.
- nicolaslem 4y agoThen you should look at Debian stable for a distribution that fixes security issues while changing nothing else within a major release.
