Tell HN: Windows Phone Man
Yes it's finally happened, a Window's phone project has come down the pipe. Maybe you did a thing in Unity, and C# is C#.
You were the self taught college drop out. Mostly regulated to manual testing or dev ops , you kept asking about Windows phone.
It happens. A client who actually uses Windows phone, finally, your chance to shine your chance to show that iOS hotshot who gets all the attention just because she programs on the platform people actually use.
You do the proof of concept for the client, the iOS hotshot gives you a high five. And then nothing, nothing. Nothing, this is how you were going to become a real engineer right. The windows phone project was going to become a Hallmark, rather the flagship project of our company.
Okay cool, you asked the tech lead about the next windows phone project. He says any day now, any day now
- sigsev_251 4y agoI loved windows phone to be honest. Back in the day I remember how cheap android phones were always laggy and didn't get any updates whatsoever, but windows phones could run smoothly on 512MB of RAM and got os updates. Those were the days...
- t-3 4y agoWP7 was actually a near-perfect phone experience that did everything right as a communicator OS.
- tempxyz 4y agoI was actually also a fan of windows phone, though I never owned one. I thought the live tiles UI was more original than whatever android was doing.
- kypro 4y agoWindows Phone was great. I really miss mine. I'm sure there were reasons, but I don't understand why MS didn't invest more in getting apps on the platform. The lack of popular apps like Snapchat was basically what killed it, the OS itself was great. Their focus should have been on getting the top 100 Android / iOS apps on WP7.
