I had a conversation with someone recently, and I think it makes sense to replace the income tax with some kind of proportional wealth tax. Especially as human labor becomes increasingly deemphasized in comparison to technology/capital. Calculations should be done to determine the exact number, but 2.5% seems like a reasonable starting point.
