Can't watch this video as I'm currently at work, but I have an anecdote I think it related based on the post title. Years ago, I started to do the little tricks I'd read to induce lucid dreams, and they worked. Man, I loved lucid dreaming: when you are aware it's a dream and have full control over it, it's basically living in a fantasy world where you can do anything without limits or consequences. So much fun! Unfortunately, it also caused me to wake up about 20 minutes after sleeping, so it interrupted my sleep; worse, it caused sleep paralysis, something I've not had before nor since then, which was physically painful. The pain from the sleep paralysis is why I ultimately stopped doing the techniques and the lucid dreams eventually stopped happening.
I wish I could lucid dream without the negative side effects :(
