Good little writeup. There really is no real world use case for them. Glad to see the crypto fad ending.
- seibelj 4y agoCrypto has been rallying like all speculative assets. If crypto was like beanie babies (as HN group think says) it would have crashed years ago and stayed dead.
- vkou 4y agoIt's not beanie babies, most of it is more like a ponzi scheme, which tend to be financial perpetual motion machines.
- voz_ 4y agoThanks for accusing me of group think! To turn the tables around, the burden of proof is on crypto to be useful, not on me. Stuff is not useful by default. So, instead of stooping to your insults, let me ask you - what use does it have? Also, I found you online, you work for crypto, pretty dishonest of you to not disclose that before commenting.
- petesergeant 4y ago> it would have crashed years ago Markets are capable of staying irrational a very long time
- timdaub 4y agoHN has stayed irrational longer than crypto that's for sure
- koonsolo 4y agoI saved this especially for people like you: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31998722 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31998722
- lern_too_spel 4y agoThe law could easily shut him down, so crypto isn't a solution either.

- koonsolo 4y agoSure, a law could state it's illegal, but that surely wouldn't shut him down.
- tim333 4y agoIs it ending? It kind of has a habit of not actually doing so https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-obituaries/ https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-obituaries/ Crypto actually works kind of great as a speculative casino. If you think that isn't a real world use case then you may have a rather rose tinted view of the world.
