If you worked in finance, 2008 was terrifying. It felt like all the banks might go under. You might say "FDIC", but they don't have enough to cover a system wide problem. Plus lots of money was in money market accounts which people thought was safe... until it wasn't. Many companies were reliant on short term loans "commercial paper" which dried up. It felt like dominoes were about to start falling.... Many people lost jobs, good people in good jobs. Current situation doesn't feel remotely as bad, like not even in the same ballpark.
