Maybe by their metrics... here it sure isn't like that.
At least I could sell the car I bought 2 years ago for more then $2k then what I paid for it... usually it would have lost at least $5k in value.
- smt88 4y ago> Maybe by their metrics Macroeconomic data is never going to feel "true" to everyone. As the economy has boomed, plenty of people still struggled. Inflation is measured across a very wide range of individual circumstances. I personally have seen very little inflation in my area, certainly less than the country as a whole has seen. There will always be pockets that are far from the average.

- TheCoelacanth 4y agoYou can't disprove a month-over-month number with a comparison to two years ago. Their claim is that prices on the whole are the same as last month. They are still reporting significant inflation comparing this July to last July.
