Same, I bought a house recently and wanted to get the walls painted white. Turns out there are hundreds of different whites that are ever so slightly different from one another, various sheens that determine how reflective and glossy the paint is, various levels of durability, various schools of thought on what color goes where (i.e. one theory is glossy plain white on trim and doors, beige ish off white on walls, flat white on ceiling). I ended up getting everything in a single shade of white, just varying levels of glossy depending on if it’s trim or ceiling. And I am not really that happy with the outcome to be honest.
