Apple apologists always find some wacky reason to justify things, but this is the first I’m hearing of “iMessage exists to prevent spam”… Have you used WhatsApp or Telegram? Neither need hardware attestation. No spam, in the decade I’ve used them. I have an iPhone and a Pixel, neither have spam. Unless the gov allows free-for-all SMS, which is not the case in the continents I’ve lived in. Sounds like a uniquely US problem, which iMessage can’t stop? You still get them, and Apple just hides them in a folder. What are you on about really?
