The overton window of the general public is much wider than the overton window permitted by current establishment thinking.
From the position of establishment norms, this means _any_ platform with user generated content will inevitably become an "internet hate machine", surfacing a stream of abhorrent ideas which should be censored.

- rg111 4y agoAbsolutely. The general public is very authoratarian, misogynistic, racist in very large scales than we in the ivory tower would like to think.

- nailer 4y agoI think you may have misinterpreted the parent comment. The parent comment doesn't support establishment norms, it just says what they are.
