Pretty much. Along with GIMP, Inkscape, Hugin, darktable, RAWTherapee, as far as raster graphics go, I’m happy with the free and libre landscape that doesn't involve jumping through those hoops and supporting Adobe.
What I'd like to see however is school teaching FOSS options too instead of folks getting train purely on proprietary, expensive subscription software.
- sofixa 4y agoThe École des Arts de la Sorbonne (formerly known as the Arts faculty of the Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University) run a FOSS stack for the graphics design courses. Debian for the OS, Scribus and Inkscape as software taught. Of course some students complain about it, especially seeing that some of them are already accustomed to Adobe's suite. One refrain i heard was "of course this is free software, nobody would pay for it".
