The whole platform seems terrible but I wonder why are these articles specifically calling out misogyny? I have seen plenty of misandry as well and they should be presenting a more holistic viewpoint that the app is just creating discord among people in general.
Here’s one example I was able to quickly find: https://www.tiktok.com/discover/are-men-useless https://www.tiktok.com/discover/are-men-useless

- alexfromapex 4y agoSo that’s the actual reasoning against egalitarianism?

- anm89 4y agoWhat an empty platitude. You haven't said anything at all. You've simply attached "itis" to a basic concept of open discourse. Care to break it down for me? Why are people tired of having nuanced conversation as opposed to having an undebatable narrative shoved down their throat? I would have to imagine no one but ideologues with axes to grind are tired of hearing multiple sides of stories.
- kelseyfrog 4y agoBecause it's not nuanced. It serves as a foil. Both-sides-ing is not discourse. It's a rhetorical trick to muddy the waters. Imagine a bit harder. It doesn't take much to be empathetic.
- anm89 4y agoImagine saying, "only allowing one side of an issue to be discussed is discourse. Discussing the entire issue isn't" What a joke.
- kelseyfrog 4y agoLiterally begging you to display some empathy.
- the_omegist 4y agoBecause the guardian & such outlets are not about depicting the most accurate & unbiased view of reality but about telling a narrative. Their audience doesn't care about alternative facts.
