Is it good for an attractive student to lose that advantage in school, so that they can learn to rely more on other ways to gain cooperation? Or is it better for them to learn the power of their attractiveness, and how to leverage it? If there were an attractiveness knob on students, it would probably useful to give them experience at both ends of the spectrum, as well as with their own natural assets, to get a better shared perspective on the world. A week of Beautiful Like Me, and another of Ugly Like Me, could be a lesson in empathy and self-defence.
And no need to limit it to attractiveness. A student could experiment with a wide variety of identities, and observe reactions to them from behind their own eyes.
Such a knob is a lot less like sci-fi with remote learning. Those funny CGI faces people put on in video meetings could become sufficently real to pull it off real soon now.
