I'm working on a fusion reactor too, but progress is slow. Thieves stole my turbomolecular vacuum pumps. I'm sitting here with a gun waiting for more thieves. It's only a matter of time til they try it again.
I feel like I have the shittiest luck.
- eulgro 4y agoHow about you just call the police when someone steals from you instead of waiting to shoot someone.

- pontifier 4y agoI kind of got stuck here. I bought some real estate really cheap hoping to use it to resurrect a business but everything has gone bad since I came here. There's not really a great option to move to because the space I need is so expensive. If I can make it work in the space I have, things will be ok. If I can't, then I don't know what will happen.
- credit_guy 4y agoYou can take solace in the fact that at least one member of the HN community went on wikipedia to read about turbomolecular pumps. Interesting devices. They seem to be quite expensive, many thousands of dollars [1]. Did you consider buying insurance for your turbomolecular pump? If you have other high value devices, maybe you can look to insure them. You never know. Better to collect insurance than to start shooting people.
