This is a consequence IMO. What we actually are is uncertainty minimizers, or certainty maximizers if you'd rather think of it that way
- pyinstallwoes 4y agoGiven that the universe is eventually inconsistent, your assertion that human observers are certainty maximizers is interesting as a polar force to eventual inconsistency. Throw the idea of entropy into the mix and you have some interesting comparisons for fun. 1. Universe(Uncertainty Maximizer) || Humans(Certainty Maximizer) 2. Universe(Eventually Inconsistent) || Humans(Eventually Consistent) 3. Universe(Entropy) || Humans(Negentropy) Seems like life contributes towards a certain required organization principle of the universe to balance out the chaos.
- nightgarden 4y agoHumans are part of the universe, so isn't that a false dichotomy?
- deltathreetwo 4y ago>Given that the universe is eventually inconsistent, I don't think this has been observed to be true yet. At least not true within a framework of very specific theoretical rules. Otherwise all our science and logic is useless.
- dekken_ 4y agoI think you're right. For all we know the universe is perfectly balanced and there is no heat death coming.
