Funny, the game I replayed the most was 'Hack', a Rogue-like. I can't quite put my finger on why it was so addictive, but I think it was the randomness - discovering which potions were which, which scrolls were which, and of course hoping for a merchant with a massive shop full of goods to pillage kept me playing. The difficulty was quite high too, forcing quite a few replays before getting that Amulet of Yendor
