Back in my university days, one of my professors claimed that he was the first (or at least one of the first) person to implement one of those annoying mouse cursor trail effects in JavaScript. He was an interesting guy. Looking back at things, I think interactive web pages are a curse that should not have been invented. But it's far too late to put the genie back in the bottle.
