Enforcement will be needed. Fortunately you can tell isotopically, and probably by trace amounts of methane and carbon monoxide, green from grey. Unfortunately there is no administrative infrastructure in place for enforcement.
- stubish 4y agoThat will depend on the risk of using green-washed hydrogen in your supply chain, which depends on enforcement (both regulated and social).A bit like keeping child and slave labor out of your supply chain. I suspect it will require requiring certified steel providers for government or certified projects, who are required to use certified hydrogen suppliers. Maybe some countries will do that.
- ncmncm 4y agoTrick is keeping the certifiers honest. We have had that problem with organic certifiers, at least in the US, and probably elsewhere: "certified organic" corn is very often not. If it is the certified who pay for a certificate, they become the customers.
