Trypophobia. I won't link to Wikipedia, if such a thing bothers you I'm not going to try to trigger it.
- OGWhales 4y agoThere is also a subreddit dedicated to that phobia, I don’t believe I have it but some of the pictures there definitely give me the willies.
- abricot 4y agoFair warning: The subreddit is focused on _triggering_ the phobia.
- weird-eye-issue 4y agoI didn't have trypophobia but after looking at Google Images I think I do now I'll be looking at lotus seeds differently now
- aesyondu 4y agoI'm not sure if I have it, but when I searched for image examples it looked extremely gross to me. EDIT: I seriously regret searching it now. Please don't while you still can. It is absolutely grotesque.
- jointpdf 4y ago> Please don’t while you still can. Counterpoint: you (reader) should give in to that gnawing feeling of curiosity. One little peek never hurt anyone. (Really, it’s not that bad.)
- makach 4y agoI searched it, and, for me it was interesting and I became curious. Some pictures were obviously doctored and made to make you feel something, others, were just.. interesting.
- iSnow 4y agoNot everyone is triggered by those pictures, to me they don't look gross at all. I can scroll through pics of lotus seed pods all day.
- bamboozled 4y agoWhat’s weird is the images in the article freaked me out. The Google search images did nothing for me. Maybe I was just primed / warned ?
- JackGreyhat 4y agoIt's the hands...it's all you get to see with duckduckgo. The hands are nasty...
- steve_adams_86 4y agoI can put myself in the headspace of finding it creepy, but by default it just looks like stuff to me. Regular objects. In the case of honeycomb it can actually look beautiful, though.
- nkrisc 4y agoI don’t get what the big deal is. Most of it was just some fake images of holes in hands and stuff? And the seed pod is scary for some reason?
- spaceman_2020 4y agoOkay, the lotus seed pictures did nothing to me, but Google Images is filled with far more disgusting images. Stay away!
- jsjohnst 4y ago> Okay, the lotus seed pictures did nothing to me, but Google Images is filled with far more disgusting images. Same! Why does body mutilation imagery like that rank so high for that search term? Ugh!
- noduerme 4y agoFascinating. I'd never heard of trypophobia before reading this post this morning... right after which I walked into an art exhibit and saw this amazing painting by Alfredo Arreguín... https://ibb.co/GQrrxNY https://ibb.co/GQrrxNY
