Brendan Eich on creating JavaScript in 10 days, what he'd do differently today
- efortis 4y agoIn summary: No loosely equal (==) 2 == "2" // FALSE. Like C, et. al. And he blames it on listening to this notorious user feedback: “I’d like to compare a number to a string that contains that numeral. And I don’t want to have to change my code to convert the string to a number, or the number to a string.”

- waste_monk 4y agoBack in my university days, one of my professors claimed that he was the first (or at least one of the first) person to implement one of those annoying mouse cursor trail effects in JavaScript. He was an interesting guy. Looking back at things, I think interactive web pages are a curse that should not have been invented. But it's far too late to put the genie back in the bottle.
