I was supposed to have learned the rolling r, since that's how it's pronounced in Romanian (my native language). It always came out as the french one though. Nowadays I can somewhat kind of do it for the common words so I don't sound terrible. I'm guessing with a bit of practice I can figure it out. It turned out right though, since I recently moved to France. It makes learning pronunciation _much_ easier. My r is already perfect.
