Unsure about west coast american, but there's a metric fuckload of accent coaches for the British RP (received pronunciation) accent. I had a housemate a few years ago who had normally a very Yorkshire accent, but for career reasons had been taking RP lessons and sounded like a BBC presenter. Apparently its pretty common in some professions to take such lessons.
