You can just block them from the repo. If it's using up your emotional energy after you've explained your position, be proactive and push it away. I realise that's the nuclear option, but at some point you have to draw a line - especially when it's your time and your mental health that is being drained away. I've only needed to do it a couple of times on my projects, but sometimes it's needed.
