Gosh, what an inflammatory claim. I better read the article to check that...
> The book, which includes depictions of sex, was in the adult section of the library.
Huh, I guess people really do like to spin things these days, don't they?
- slt2021 4y agoit is not up to me or you to decide, those who pay for public library services can decide for themselves what books they want to fund out of their pockets
- Defletter 4y agoMaybe don't flagrantly lie in the future.
- josephcsible 4y agoThat one book was. But if you look at the letter in the article, there were several other books like it that were indeed in the kids' section. (Also, libraries generally don't have curtains or barriers to keep kids out of the adults' section, so prominently displaying pornographic books isn't really a great thing to do even when it's done there.)
- slt2021 4y agohigh schoolers don't hang around in kids section, they all read adult section. Kids section is for elementary/middle schoolers. But high schoolers are the most vulnerable to false gender dysphoria due to propaganda and peer pressure
- pseudalopex 4y agoThe letter said LGBT books for kids were added to the library. The flyer made LGBTQ CONTENT AND PORNOGRAPHIC SEXUALLY GRAPHIC MATERIAL 1 category. They didn't say there were pornographic books in the kids' section. The letter said Gender Queer was placed in the library. The flyer said it was discovered. Where did you read it was prominently displayed? I looked up Gender Queer. I can't say if it belongs in a public library because I didn't read it. But it seemed like the explicit drawings were a small part and had a purpose. Graphic and pornographic are different.
