This has been going on for quite some time. Imagine being this guy where he finds the machine only to discover the HD was stripped by the recycler, or run over by a machine's track/tread, water damage, or simply the HD has failed?
- jlokier 4y agoIf the HDD has failed (but water hasn't leaked into it) there's a fair chance a specialised data recovery lab will be able to recover some of its data from the platters. For a substantial fee of course.
