Sigh Two lessons here:
1) Excessive specificity is the killer of jokes. After a certain amount of detail, people no longer recognize it as a joke at all without an explicit punchline. Cf. Aristocrats
2) Experts, especially STEM experts, need to abide by the Spider-Man motto: with great power comes great responsibility. As an expert, you have the duty to make sure all your communications with the public are clear and accurate to the best of your knowledge and ability. When there is miscommunication between experts and the public, it erodes public trust in expertise in general, which is extremely damaging to society.
A bonus lesson: chorizo is delicious, eat it instead of pranking people with it.
