Possibly. Tons of people do ti.

They reward the high-performers with risk-free, extremely attractive compensation. Very few people would be able to create value on their own.
- j-bos 4y agoThanks, My question though is, do you personally desire to be in that position?
- yodsanklai 4y agoIt's all about trade-off, aversion to risk, skill sets and so on...
- Sakos 4y agoA stable job with great pay and the freedom to work on tough problems without having to worry about funding? Yeah, I'd love to be in that position. If you want the fruits of that labour to not be monopolized, then it needs to be regulated.
- j-bos 4y agoI stand corrected and am updating my understanding. Thanks!
- inglor_cz 4y agoOne more comment from someone else. IP does not last forever. Specifically patents only last for 20 years. So whatever you discover for your employer, the whole humanity gets profit from, just later. If the alternative is that the same thing does not get discovered at all, or 30 years later, then the tradeoff is good.
