I've driven regularly around the SF Bay Area. While driving on 280 and 101 I do see some stupid driving regularly, on the 880 I see near-suicidal driving every time. It's no secret that one side of the bay, particularly up those corridors is much less affluent than the others. I wonder if there's something there, or just bad correlation with too small of a sample size of just my observations.
